MULTI-SPINDLE AUTOMATIC LATHES

MULTISWISS

MultiSwiss

Tornos currently offers a complete range of MultiSwiss solutions for the production of parts with diameters from 4 to 32 mm
The two new versions—the MultiSwiss 8×26 and the MultiSwiss 6×32—are based on the philosophy and technology that proved successful in the MultiSwiss 6×14 and MultiSwiss 6×16 machines. The machines feature mobile spindles with Z-axis movement, drum indexing using torque motor technology, and a container integrating all peripherals required for machine operation. The machine footprint has been optimized. These machines represent a departure from conventional multi-spindle machines, providing a link between multi-spindle and single-spindle lathes. The onboard technology enables them to achieve cycle times comparable to cam-operated multi-spindle lathes.

MultiSwiss 6x16

The small-diameter champion

The MultiSwiss 6×16 replaced the MultiSwiss 6×14, and its technology and features quickly won over customers. This easy-to-use machine, offering numerous advantages, has the same footprint as a sliding headstock lathe but is five times more productive, producing high-quality parts with exceptional precision and flawless surface finish. These advantages have not gone unnoticed, and around 200 MultiSwiss 6×14 and MultiSwiss 6×16 machines have already been sold.

Eight spindles for even greater possibilities

Equipped with eight spindles for the main operations, the MultiSwiss 8×26—featuring up to three tools per station—takes the performance of the MultiSwiss product family to a new level in terms of both complexity and productivity. Thanks to its eight highly dynamic synchronous motor spindles and ultra-fast drum indexing, the new MultiSwiss 8×26 can achieve very high productivity.

Its powerful 11 kW motor spindles boast high torque (16.1 Nm). Operating independently, each is equipped with a C-axis, including the sub-spindle. They reach speeds of 8,000 rpm in just a few tenths of a second, significantly contributing to the machine’s performance. The maximum length of standard parts is 65 mm. As an option, the machine can be equipped with a Y-axis to further enhance machinability. The machine is available in three configurations: without Y-axis (entry level); with three Y-axes (intermediate); and with six Y-axes (complete) for the most complex parts.

MultiSwiss 6x32

32 mm, 20 Nm, perfect for large diameters

The MultiSwiss 6×32 is based on the same platform as the MultiSwiss 8×26 machine. It is equipped with six independent spindles with hydrostatic bushings and can process bars up to 32 mm in diameter. To achieve excellent machining conditions at these diameters, the 11 kW motor provides increased torque of 19 Nm. The maximum spindle speed is 6,000 rpm, and the maximum part length is 65 mm. As an option, the machine can be equipped with three Y-axes.
