Chip reducers from KNOLL

KNOLL chip shredders reduce metal and plastic chips to a bulkable material quality. The reducers can be installed on machine tools or at central collection points. Depending on the model, horizontal or vertical installation is possible, and in certain applications, they can also be used in combination with faulty part ejection.

Provided chip reducer with vertical chip feed

KNOLL chip reducers ZV, ZVD and ZVDD are machines for reducing metal and plastic chips. The chip feed is done vertically from above. Decentralised use is possible on machining tools (retrofittable). Centralised use is enabled by installation at collection points. They are suitable for chip pre-treatment and volume reduction, and can also serve as auxiliary equipment for centrifuging, melting, pumping, etc.

Main functions:

  • Feeding of the chips in the feed hopper
  • Pulling in of the chips between the rotating cutter shaft and the angled infeed slide or fixed cutter
  • Crushing of the chips between the rotating and fixed cutter
  • Limitation of the chip lengths with screen insert with different hole sizes or without screen insert

Variants:

  • Double-faced blades (-J): for large quantities of chips and high reducing quality
  • Two-headed blades (-Z): with occurrence of problem parts and different types of chips
  • Single shaft: for small bunches of chips and low to medium throughput
  • Double shaft: for large or compressed bunches of chips and high throughput
  • Combination options: Chip shredders can be combined if required

Integrated chip reducer with horizontal chip feed

The KNOLL ZH-J and ZHV-J chip reducers are suitable for reducing metal and plastic chips. Chip feeding is horizontal. They are particularly used as an integrated component of the RIK return pump station. Decentralised use on machine tools is possible, with low-level chip feeding via a screw conveyor. They are used for chip pre-treatment prior to processes such as centrifuging, briquetting, melting, pumping, or suction transport.
